Comments/Trivia
  • 1 of 8 Flip Side Fashions, released in 1986
  • The name of this fashion is a Jem song title.

Most notably, Jem's side on the cartoon has a white lace tunic overdress that the doll's fashion did not come with. The socks are shown to be white on the cartoon (not striped). The cartoon shows a bracelet that the produced fashion did not have.

Blue jumpsuit: Aqua blue spandex, neckline dips in the middle.

  • The blue has a tendency to fade, I've had two NRFB fashions with blue-grey fronts.

Lace dress: stretchy white lace, velcros in back, sleeves are sewn into the "rolled up" position.

Head wrap: sheer pink material, elasticized with a velcro closure.

Belt: extra long and hot pink, leatherette material, it's intended to go around the waist twice. Pink sewn-on lamé belt buckle.

Lace gloves: More like arm bands, there are no fingers or even a place for the thumb to go through.  They are made of the same material as the dress.

Socks: Made of white/aqua cotton knit, trimmed with lace.

Pumps: straight edge dark fluorescent pink shoes.

Sunglasses: pink.
  • They are less orange than those from Gettin' Down to Business and a bit lighter than those from Music in the Air.  See a photo of the two together, and four pairs together.
  • It seems likely there is another version of the glasses with the triangular-nose notch; I have yet to see it however.
  • Damian's fashion came with medium blue sunglasses.

silver beaded necklace: looks pretty generic to me :\  I'm not sure how you could tell the genuine article apart from a fake without having an original on hand to compare it with.

Packaging Variants: A listing of the packaging that Like A Dream can be found in, that I know of, so far!
Bold listings are those I have used to create this ID page.  Anything in Italics I haven't actually seen but have good reason to believe exists.  If you have any photos or information/corrections to share, I'd love to hear about it!

Differences from produced fashion (if any)
1986 US Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue The lace dress looks thinner/a different pattern, the "buckle" has a hole in the middle, the glasses are blue, the head wrap is darker, and the necklace is much longer.
1986 German Leaflet (same photo appears in the 1986 Belgium catalogue): No belt, no glasses, no necklace.  The lace dress looks like a different fabric but I can't say for sure.
