Trivia |
This fashion is almost a direct copy of one
designed by Adrian, a man famous for working with the glamour
stars
of MGM studio in the 1930s. The fashion was featured in the film Letty
Lynton (1932). In it the star of the film, Joan Crawford wore this
dress.
The film was noted immediately for its amazing wardrobe and the gowns
featured
in the film were copied and sold in many upscale stores to great
success.
In 1936 the filmed was barred from being shown publicly as the plot of
the film too closely resembled a play by Edward Sheldon, Dishonored
Lady.
The film to this day cannot be shown publicly and has not been released
on VHS or DVD, nor shown on television. Thanks to Matty for this
information! |
