clapboard: Yellow with dark pink stripes, turquoise shiny decal.
  • The name of the playset it came with is the name of the production on the clapboard.
  • Each Video Madness playset came with a specific clapboard.

backdrop: Two-sided brightly coloured cardboard backdrop. One side for "It's Workin' Out", the other for "We Can Change It" (? I guess?).
  • The backdrop can only be used on the Star Stage on the "It's Workin' Out" side as it's not symmetrical.  I've also had a hard time keeping my backdrop in place as the cardboard is much larger than the Star Stage cover.  It would have been nice if the light clips could have held it in place!
  • Each Video Madness playset came with a specific backdrop.
cassette tape: Has the songs "It's Workin' Out", "We Can Change It" and "Jem Theme."  Instrumentals on reverse side.
  • Each Video Madness playset came with a specific cassette.

horn: Yellow horn: Yellow plastic.
  • 3 words: Workout video.  Tuba.  Huh?

jump rope: braided yellow cord attached to molded green plastic handles.
  • same cord is used on Clash's distortion modulator.

barbell: Yellow and green, has Jem logo embossed on the side of the weights.

director's chair: Green plastic with yellow nylon seat and back, has stickers applied to it.
  • It really folds too, which is OK for getting it back in the box, but the stickers suffer and peel off.

headband: Gold stretchy elastic with a small blue lamé star glued to the front.
  • The headband and wristband ends fray *very* easily.
wristbands: Gold stretchy elastic.  Quite generic looking.

leg warmers: blue spandex with gold pin stripes, gold elastic hems.
  • This distinctive pattern was going to be reused for other clothing pieces in 1988, according to the photos in the Hasbro Pre-Toy Fair Catalogue Matching Medley Fashions.
sticker sheet: Small colourful stickers on a clear background, fitness theme.
  • Each Video Madness playset came with a specific sticker sheet.

Box, liner and inserts not previously noted in Hasbro's box contents above.

I don't own this playset NRFB so I can't say which, if any posters and inserts originally came with it.
Box: US version, H44 Accessories Made in China, Cassette Made in Hong Kong (playset parts featured on this ID page is US issue)

Box Liner: White cardboard

Other images of  It's Workin' Out (generally unproduced/prototypes/promotional figures) Differences from produced playset (if any)
Hasbro catalogues The 1987 France/UK Toy Fair Catalogue has it's own photographs: The clapboard is not the correct colours, the tape looks like it has black writing, and one of the wristbands and the sticker sheet it missing.
Hasbro box photograph Video Madness Box front image is the same as the photo in the 1987 US Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue: shows the tuba with a silver cord attached. The sticker sheet shown is not quite the same as the one in the produced set, the leg warmers are also missing the gold stripes. The tape has pink writing (it's not discernible if it's the correct tape for the set either).  The larger image shows the correct green lettered tape.
Video Madness Box back image is the same as the one on the Second Year Jem Catalogue Poster: also shows the tuba with a silver cord attached, the leg warmers are also missing the gold stripes. The tape has pink writing (it's not discernible if it's the correct tape for the set either)
