Produced Variants So far, I have seen the New Wave Waterbed sold in the following packaging. Since they were all made in Hong Kong or China, I don't know if there are any country-of-release related differences or not:
  • US issue: Made in USA, Bed clothes Made in China.  Mattress Made in Taiwan. Keyboard Made in Hong Kong. (playset parts featured on this ID page is US issue)
  • Canadian issue: Bed clothes Made in China.  Mattress Made in Taiwan. Keyboard Made in Hong Kong.(playset parts featured on this ID page also Canadian issue)
  • French
  • Belgian? (comes with French/Dutch text) version - has an extra cardboard piece to keep the keyboard more sturdy when upright.
  • UK, or other European - The box and poster are in English with "1987 Hasbro Industries (U.K.) Ltd. Wokingham, Berkshire" while the instructions are in Italian "1987 MB Italy S.R.L. under Berne & Universal Copyright Convention." - making it a strange UK-Italian combination product. Came with a strange poster - at first looks like a regular 1st year catalogue poster but the Rockin' Roadster has been replaced by the Glitter 'n Gold Roadster.
