Comments/Trivia -Ironically, it doesn't actually have a radio in it.  Much like the Rock Backstager, this playset is essentially an amplifier, it comes with a microphone.  It looks like a flying V guitar and it can open up to be a radio studio for Jem.

Produced Variants So far, I have seen KJem sold in the following packaging. Since they were all made in Hong Kong or China, I don't know if there are any country-of-release related differences or not:
  • US issue Made in USA.  Microphone and electronics Made in Hong Kong. (This is the issue used for this ID guide)

air-guitar with strap: chartreuse plastic "flying v" guitar with a built-in amplifier & speaker, the pink handle is a separate part that can be removed.  There is a pink nylon cord attached to the guitar so it can be worn by a child. Inside the green part is a Jem-sized radio station studio (KJem).  
working "Child-sized" microphone with jack, amplifier and speaker: Hot pink child-sized mic with hot pink foam head (removable), mic cord with mini input at the end.
  • The jack, amplifier and speaker are all built into the guitar so it's not really a separate part.
3 console base pieces: Made up of 3 pieces itemized below, all are hot pink with decals.
  • The decal would be applied by the child after purchase.

4 record player arms: chartreuse plastic, attach to control panel.

8 records with jackets: chartreuse plastic records with yellow plastic bags to hold them, stamped with pink Jem logo.
