  • Set is named after a Jem song (which not coincidentally is on the tape included with the playset)
  • This seems to be the most sought after Video Madness Playset.

  • Video Madness Box front image (left) is the same as the photo in the 1987 US Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue: The flute is opaque, the sticker sheet is not exactly the same. Pizzazz's tape is shown.
  • Video Madness Box back image is the same as the one on the Second Year Jem Catalogue Poster The flute is opaque, the sticker sheet is not exactly the same. Pizzazz's tape is shown.
  • The 1987 France/UK Toy Fair Catalogue (French Shown) has it's own photographs: Again, opaque flute also with no cord, camera is missing the cord, the clapboard colours are wrong, the shett music is different, the tape is white with black lettering, no sticker sheet is shown, a hand held microphone is shown.

    The back of a box always says what is contained in the playset.  The bold words in my descriptions are what Hasbro themselves stated came with the playset.
    INCLUDES: clapboard, backdrop cassette tape, flute, microphone, video camera, hairclip, gloves, sheet music, two-sided mask and sticker sheet.
    clapboard, All VM playsets came with one.  The name of the playset it came with is the name of the "Production" on the clapboard.   Dark Pink with purple decal.

  • A flute for the Misfits?  They need a flute like a fish needs a bicycle!  If they HAD to give out wind instruments, the Misfits should have at least gotten the tuba from It's Workin' Out!

    microphone; It's a darker pink than the one from the Star Stage.
    video camera; look familiar?  It's the same one that Video came with in different colours.
    hairclip; well they had to do something with those extra My Little Pony hairclips! (^_^)
  • Hairclips similar to this were going to be reused for the Matching Medley Fashion accessories in 1988, according to the photos in the Hasbro Pre-Toy Fair Catalogue Matching Medley Fashions.
