  • First Year Only
  • An On Stage Fashion
  • There is a Jem song named Twilight in Paris
  • In case you haven't noticed yet, this page could not exist without the contributions of Rhonda Robinson!
  • It is worn on the cartoon episodes and in the opening credits.
  • The photo (shown left) used in both the first year Jem catalogue poster and the 1986 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue show it a tad lighter (shoes and dress) than the produced outfit is.
  • Another photo is used in the 1986 German Leaflet (same photo appears in the 1986 Belgium catalogue): showing the fashion a bit lighter and with even lighter shoes (about 1st ed Shana's shoe colour), and no seashell clasp.
  • First Year Package Art illustration (see left) Besides the clasp, looks pretty much exactly like what was produced.
  • The back of a card/box always says what is contained in the fashion.  The bold words in my descriptions are what Hasbro themselves stated came with the fashion.
INCLUDES: purple evening dress, knee sock and pumps.
purple evening dress; royal purple spandex, velcro closure in front, covered by a gold sea-shell decoration with a pink "jewel" attached.  The inside is gold stretch-sparkle fabric (not lamé); This dress also has sewn in foam shoulder pads!
knee sock; light pink spandex, zig-zag stitched hem.  It has an appliqué of a pink thin ribbon bow and a thin foil red heart sewn to the top.  This is often lost or missing on loose socks. There is also no pattern on this sock, it didn't scan well.
pumps; Royal Purple straight edge, scan courtesy of Rachael Binz.
panties; Hasbro neglected to mention these (unmentionables, ha ha); they are light pink spandex, possibly the same or a shade lighter than first edition Shana's.  Elasticized waist, same colour and material as the knee sock.
