Comments/Fun Facts Other Versions of this outfit (may contain files larger than 100 kb, click at your own peril!)
  • First Year Only
  • A Flip Side Fashion
  • It was not named after a Jem song
  • Outfit scans (minus shoes and glasses) courtesy of Rhonda Robinson
  • Thanks to Lynda for the box description
  • Does anyone else feel like this outfit is a Darci leftover?
  • This outfit seems to be one of the lesser quality ones- I noticed some fairly bad stitching on mine and the blues used in the outfit don't match each other
  • Rock Country and the other Flip Sides in the 1986 US Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue: The scarf is white, the tights are sheer and blue and the shoes are straight sided blue pumps.
  • Rock Country in the 1986 German Leaflet (same photo appears in the 1986 Belgium catalogue): Shows a different pattern on the shawl, and the fringes look more like the ends of the fabric were cut to resemble fringes.  The skirt is is pleated.  The tights are white.  The shoes are straight edged aqua shoes (like Jerrica's) and there is an orange ribbon on the hat which appears smaller than the produced one. The sunglasses are not shown.
  • The drawing of City Lights on the 1986 Flip Side Fashions box art (see left) is fairly accurate but the hat is white and the pattern on the shawl is not the same (see the the 1986 German Leaflet photo), the tassels are shorter and peach.
  • It did appear on the cartoon, and in the opening credits
  • Rhonda's Rock Country came with the pink necklace from Sophisticated Lady.
  • The back box always says what is contained with the doll.  The bold words in my descriptions are what Hasbro themselves stated came with the doll;
Includes: peach blouse, blue skirt, shawl, tights, straw hat with ribbon, sunglasses and sandals
    Peach Blouse

  • This blouse can also come with an elasticized waist. (thanks Damian!)
  • blue skirt: slightly stretchy cotton/poly mix. Velcro closure in back.
Shawl; white fringed white material with blue, peach and pink design.

  • My shawl's pattern looks a bit paler than the one shown.
  • Tights: Pale peach lace tights.
Straw hat with ribbon: Rather generic looking straw hat with a shiny baby blue ribbon.
Sunglasses: Similar in shape and colour to those from 1st Ed. Jem/Jerrica, but a bit darker aqua.
  • See a photo of all the similar blue glasses together.
  • Sandals: Bright, vibrant turquoise.
  • They really clash with the skirt :\ (at least mine do).  There may be a paler greyish variant, I have a loose pair, I do not know what they are from.
  • Much brighter than those from Sophisticated LadySee a pic of all the blue sandals together to tell them apart.
