Comments/Fun Facts Other Versions of this outfit (may contain files larger than 100 kb, click at your own peril!)
  • Second Year Only
  • A Music is Magic fashion
  • Not named after a song.
  • All photos courtesy of Rhonda Robinson
  • It did appear on the cartoon
  • In the 1987 US Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogue (same photo is used in the 1987 France/UK Toy Fair Catalogue), the tassels on the belt look much darker, and the tambourine is matte and blue with a yellow Jem logo.  The hairbow looks like a different material, possibly even in a pre-tied bow.
  • On the back of the Music is Magic fashion boxes (same photo appears on the 2nd year catalogue poster), the tassels are much darker.  Everything else looks right.
  • Shirt; Sleeves are made of sheer, pink material (similar to that found on the Like a Dream headscarf but lighter), bodice is made of blue eyelash material (a few strands are mylar, most are cotton) decorated with green lamé circles and a strip of blue iridescent material (like Video's jacket in texture).  Sleeves are elasticized at wrists, velcro closure in back.
Pants: Lime green spandex (a bit more vibrant than this photo implies), velcro closure in back, slits up the bottom sides.
Belt:  Made of blue iridescent material (like Video's jacket in texture), lined in blue fabric, velcro closure, decorations are holographic stickers, one edge is sewn on.  Long blue fringe.
Hairbow: Almost identical to the scarf that comes with Only the Beginning. The Rhythm N' Flash hairbow is thinner and longer than the scarf.

  • Thanks Pete B. for the above information information!
  • Tambourine; Made of blue plastic, the front has a dark pink sparkly sticker with the Jem logo on it. The jingles are made of green plastic and do rattle when the toy is shook.
Boots: They are darker and very obviously stiffer than the ones from Flash N' Sizzle Jem.
