This page is currently under construction as I do not have a MIB Mexican Kimber (yet:)
Mexican Kimber

In order for this to be interesting, you should probably be familiar with the Chinese/Hong Kong Made* Kimber.  Assuming you are, let's begin!
This doll was bought in England, along with other Mexican Jem dolls- how they got there, I don't know, but 2 out of 3 of the Mexican Jem collections I know of ARE in the UK!  The differences, are fairly subtle to the casual observer, but for a Jem fanatic (which, if you are reading this, you probably are!) they are striking.  Thanks to Taffeta for much of the information and photos on this site (all except guitar, and where marked)
*Chinese/Hong Kong made dolls are those typically found in the US, Canada, Australia, most of Europe.

Her face has the typical Mexican paleness, as well her make up is on the lighter end of the scale.  Her hair is less pink-toned and more orangey toned, which is unfound in usual Jem dolls.  See a picture of the Mexican & American dolls side by side.

  • Thanks to Thumper for these photos!
  • Another Mexican Kimber- notice the sparse/sloppy hair line and eyebrows.  The scalp paint also extends out further than it should.
Apparently there are a couple different shades of red hair found on the Mexican Kimber dolls.
Mexican Kimber's stage fashion (since this is Taffeta's outfit, I'll use her description here):
"As you can see real clearly, it's not sparkly lame like the regular Kimber's outfit. Yes, the trousers and the collar and cuffs are metallic, but in a different way. The jacket is of a more fluffy material, and fastens at the front with VELCRO, not a popper. [Mexican] Jem's dress, Aja's top, Roxy's trousers and Shana's jacket are also made of this material."
I assume it's a Mexican keyboard anyway though I can't be positive.  This keyboard has black keys, as opposed to her regular mauve ones (one the 2nd ed guitar) and the plastic is very brittle, not rubbery at all, much more like the plastic of the early doll stands.  As well the colour is much more an orangey pink as opposed to the more purple-y pink of her 2nd ed. guitar.
