#4000 In order for this to be interesting, you should probably be familiar with the Chinese/Hong Kong* Jem/Jerrica. Assuming you are, let's begin! *Chinese/Hong Kong made dolls are those typically found in the US, Canada, Australia, most of Europe. |

Firstly, she comes with star-capped earrings, which is
a rarer variation of 1st Edition Jem.
Doll on the left: has a Hasbro stamped head, and is likely a Mexican hybrid (meaning the head was not made in Mexico, more likely was a left over from the Hong Kong or China plant). Doll on the right: is not stamped, and has the pale skin typical of
Mexican made heads. Also notice her extremely red earrings.

The back and battery cover have no markings at all.
The rubbery limbs are also a slightly paler colour, or more "band-aid"
shaded, not as warm as the usual skin tone.

Her Jem dress is made of a "pleather" or a smooth fake leathery texture. |
![]() |
Her belt does not have the blue sticker pattern on it. The inner
tassels(not the outermost one on each side) are sewn together at the ends.
The silver pattern is is vertical, not horizontal, like the China/Hong
Kong made versions.

Taffeta's NRFB Mexican Jem's belt did not have the tassels sewn together. It's likely the one with the tassels sewn together was just a factory error. |

The Jerrica fashion is similar but the stripes are wider and farther apart. |
![]() |
The beret is made of the same wider spaced striped material,
but (in my case) the elastic band on the hat is white, not blue.
There is also a blue band version

She comes wearing a Misfit's bracelet, coated sort of badly, on mine it was actually stuck to her forearm, when I slid it down, some of the foil stuck to her arm ~_~ |
![]() |
Like her bracelet, her shoes are also coated sort of badly. The scan didn't really show it, but the texture is a bit crustier and not all evenly coloured. The Jerrica shoes are distinguishable from regular shoes in that they are slightly smaller and shinier (see the Mexican Jem shoes section). |
| Her microphone has an all silver head, China/Hong Kong made Jem's has a pink ring around the middle. |

The Jerrica glasses (shown in the centre) have the wide-nose version (there are also Hong Kong/Chinese dolls with this style) but a bit paler blue. |

Boxes are written completely in (Mexican) Spanish 1. Doll's name: Depending on the doll, reads: "________ de las Holograms" or Misfits. 2. Cassette Tape Information: Entirely in (Mexican) Spanish, as the songs themselves are dubbed in (Mexican) Spanish. The song titles are differently titled than those from the Spanish dolls. 3. Hasbro Logo; It is similar to the Hasbro logo, but not the same; they are made under license by Juguetes Con Vida. 4. Truly Outrageous Tag: is replaced by "Es Fabulosa". It is not written on the back of the box, but it is everywhere else it would normally be on the US box (top flap, etc) 5. Stock Number: It is the same for Jem, I have yet to see another doll's box 6. Audition Contest Panel; is not there, like typical US boxes. 7. Licensing information/Country of manufacture: Licensing information/Country of manufacture: The information is shown on the other long side panel (adjacent to the side flap), "Hecho en Mexico por Plasticos Iga S.A. Bajo licencia de Hasbro Bradley Inc." 8. Jemstar Points/Proof of Purchase; are not there. For more on Jem in Mexico, go here. |
