A few of the Jem outfits are portrayed here differently than in the
cartoon, I think it's safe to guess they are probably from earlier designs.

Differs from both the Award Night from the cartoon, and the fashion that was produced for sale. Notice the "M" on her belt, most likely from when Jem's name was still "M". There are some photograps of prototype Award Night fashions that show a "J" in place of the "M". The actual fashion ended up with just a silver sequin. The boa & gloves for this fashion are only seen in The Bands Break Up, and the little dots around the rims of the boots are only occassionally drawn in by the animators (usually they appear to be just plain white boots that are a bit more snug than those shown here). |

This risqué version is quite different from the
fashion
produced as a toy, and the version shown
in the episodes. It is difficult to tell for sure, but it appears
as though the whole neckline area had a lot more detail going on in both
cartoon versions as compared to the produced fashion. Sadly the fashion
that was made also lacks the necklace. Notice also the cuffs and
hat for this fashion in comparison to both the episode version & produced
fashion.
It is difficult for me to tell if this is supposed to be Jem modelling this fashion or not. It definitely appears Misfit-esque, despite the pink hair. |

Looks, to a large degree similar to the fashion that was
later shown in the episodes, the hairpiece
is a bit different, and there seem to be a few "mistakes" done in the first
version of the fashion, (tights, not just a sock on the model's left leg,
tattoo in the underarm which I think was just an artist mis-reading the
shadow here)
As with Twiligh in Paris, it is difficult for me to tell if this is supposed to be Jem modelling this fashion or not. It definitely appears Misfit-esque, and it is a Misfit fashion on both the show and the toy shelves. |

Differs a lot from both the produced fashion, and what appears to be the fashion on the cartoon. Most notable is the colour scheme, which is peaches and blues in the toy, and beiges/yellows on the cartoon! Note also that the cartoon version would have been the "Jerrica's" side of the flip so we can't really compare them totally here. The produced fashion didn't end up with any jewellery or ankle staps on the shoes, not surprisingly (but sadly!) |
