Rockin' Roadster

Came out both years, but the second year it was called the "Glitter 'n Gold Roadster" and had different colours of plastic.  .  As you can see from this picture, the hood opens for storage room.  It is shown without the roof, which also is detachable.  The hood ornament is actually the word "Jem", nice touch!

Known Variations Comments and Fun Facts
  • I believe the design is based on a Rolls Royce
  • Compare Rockin' Roadster prototype photos, box art, cartoon form, comic book form and many other incarnations.
  • This is the Glitter 'n Gold Roadster.  It is one of the rarer Jem items to find, but I think it's book value of $250 boxed is a bit inflated.  This roadster is exactly the same in design as the original Rockin' Roadster.
Who says Jem wasn't vain?  They call those vanity plates for a reason you know! ^_^ Inside the "trunk" is a real, working radio.  In a bit of an inconvenient place to get to while driving...  I may also note, that it says JEM on the trunk too!  No wondering who this car belonged to!
Yet another view. The bumper from this one is missing.  Those, the hood ornament and the stick shift and steering wheel are often broken off and lost.  If you are buying one of these without seeing it, be sure to ask if all these things are still on it!  The hole in the back is for a cord to attach to the Back Stager (essentially, a speaker.)
